Desktop Metal CNC Milling
Arriving soon: real metal parts, cut from solid stock with flood coolant and a 24,000 RPM spindle. Quote requests are open now.
Our Approach
A wood router can carve aluminum on a good day. A metal mill is built for it. Our Shariff DMC2 Mini is a rigid desktop mill made to cut metal all day: a 2.2 kW spindle, closed-loop motors on every axis, and an enclosed flood-coolant system that keeps the cutter and the part cool so the finish stays clean and the dimensions stay true.
That opens up work our wood and laser equipment cannot do. Brackets, mounting plates, adapters and spacers in aluminum or steel. A replacement for a part that is no longer made, measured from the broken original. A prototype that has to be metal before it goes to a production shop. Small batches of identical parts that need to match.
Because it sits in the same workshop as our fiber lasers, a part can be milled and then laser marked with a logo, serial number or scale without leaving the building.
Equipment in Our Workshop

Metal Parts Machined in Hammond, Wisconsin
Metal milling is done in our Hammond workshop for customers across Hudson, River Falls, Baldwin, New Richmond, Somerset and the eastern Twin Cities metro including Stillwater and Woodbury. Parts can be picked up by appointment or shipped anywhere in the US.
It suits the jobs that are too small or too one-off for a production machine shop: a single bracket, a dozen spacers, a part for a restoration, a fixture for your own workshop. The working area is 12 by 7 inches, with 5.5 inches of vertical travel, so most hand-sized parts fit in one setup.
Have a part that needs to be metal?
Send a drawing, a CAD file (STEP, DXF or SVG), or a photo of the part with a few measurements. We will tell you whether it fits the machine and what it will cost.
